  1. What a Wonderful Book

  2. The Revelation of Jesus Christ Chapter 5

  3. (Acts 1:6-7) Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7 And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. (Dan 12:8-9) Although I heard, I did not understand. Then I said, “My lord, what shall be the end of these things?” 9 And he said, “Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

  4. (Rev 1:3) Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this testimony and keep those things which are written in it, for the time is near.

  5. The Lamb takes the scroll • The scroll: • A mystery. • “But you, Bethlehem in the land of Judah, are not the least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you shall come a Ruler Who will shepherd My people Israel” (Mat 2:6) , (Micah 5:2)

  6. The Lamb takes the scroll • The scroll: • The long-life mankind problem. • Who can solve it? • From the Liturgy of St. Gregory: Neither an angel nor an archangel, neither a patriarch nor a prophet, have You entrusted with our salvation.

  7. The Lamb takes the scroll • T: • (Gen 49: 9) Judah is a lion’s whelp; remember Jacob • (Rev 22:16) “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.”

  8. The Lamb (Rev 5: 6-7) And I looked, and behold,[c] in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth. 7 Then He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne.

  9. 8 Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 And they sang a new song, saying:       “ You are worthy to take the scroll,       And to open its seals;       For You were slain,       And have redeemed us to God by Your blood       Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,        10 And have made us kings and priests to our God;       And we shall reign on the earth.”

  10. 11 Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, 12 saying with a loud voice:       “ Worthy is the Lamb who was slain       To receive power and riches and wisdom,       And strength and honor and glory and blessing!”

  11. 13 And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying:       “ Blessing and honor and glory and power       Be to Him who sits on the throne,       And to the Lamb, forever and ever!”14 Then the four living creatures said, “Amen!” And the twenty-four elders fell down and worshiped Him who lives forever and ever.

  12. 14 Then the four living creatures said, “Amen!” And the twenty-four elders fell down and worshiped Him who lives forever and ever.

  13. May the blessings of St. Mary , Archangel Michael, St. John, St. Anthony, St. Paul the Hermit, all the Saints and all the martyrs be with us all. Amen
