  1. Improving QoS for VoIP session establishment with SIP channel reallocation scheme Presentation by:Anil Kumar Marikukala Syed Khaja Najmuddin Ahmed

  2. Outline: • Introduction. • Reasons for SIP Trunk failure. • Consequencesof SIP trunk failure. • SIP Trunking demo. • Mechanisms to improve QoS. • Preferred solution. • Future research.

  3. Introduction: • SIP : Session Initiation Protocol. • Used to establish a session between two users. • Establishes session using SIP Trunk.

  4. Reasons for SIP Trunk failure: • Overflow of the network. • An improper telephony solution. • Physical damage.

  5. consequencesof trunk failure: • Users looses connection during the call. • It is difficult to get back the trunk as it involves knowledge of whole network skeleton.

  6. SIP TRUnking demo: • SIP Trunk established between two Asterisk machines.

  7. mechanisms to improve QOS: • Three Enhanced Priority schemes: • One Server/Four Trunk Scenario. • Four Server/Four Trunk Scenario. • Four Server/One Trunk Scenario.

  8. 1. One Server/Four Trunk Scenario:

  9. 2. Four Server/Four Trunk Scenario:

  10. 3. Four Server/One Trunk Scenario:

  11. Preferred solution: • We prefer 3rd scenario => Four Server/One Trunk Scenario. • Because of a block which decides the distribution of traffic in trunks.

  12. Future research: • The EPS module algorithm. • Compatible with different protocols. • Exceptions can be add to the module to reject the unwanted traffic.
