Electronic signatures for PCT e-filing • Alphanumeric or text string signature: /John Doe/ • Facsimile signature: scanned signature (.tif format) • Advanced digital signature: WIPO CA Digital Certificates • Signature: can be used to sign the request form • Security: used to ensure secure transmission to the receiving Office

  5. WIPO CA digital certificates • Online enrollment • every request processed within 1 business day • Secure transmission of the application to the RO • Transportable for use on another PC • Secure access to Epct private services • Delivered to natural persons not to companies • Not required for EPO Smart card users • Useful for paralegals and attorneys
