  2. History New York was first visited by Giovanni Verrazano in 1529. It was considered a state, though, in 1788.

  3. Nickname New York’s nickname is the empire state because it has the biggest building AND city in the U.S.

  4. Capitol The capitol of New York is Albany.

  5. There are several symbols for New York but I’m just going to name a few: Roses Bluebirds Beavers Sugar oak Apples Symbols

  6. Geography New York is bordered by Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Canada, and the Atlantic ocean. It is south of Canada, and in the northeastern part of the USA.
