  17. The Mark of Cain and the Beast “And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand, or on their forehead (Revelation 13:16). “When Cain moved by the spirit of the wicked one, saw that he could not control Abel, he was so enraged that he setroyed his life. . . . But the cruelties heaped upon the follower of Jesus are instigated by Satan . . . because they cannot force him to submit to their control” (Patriarchs and Prophets, 77).
