  1. Overview of main developments in 8.4 & 8.5 Introduction • Automation • Lines • Vessels • Environment • Model building & calculations • External Functions • Miscellaneous

  2. Automated batch script production Automation • Instructions Wizard • Duplicate Instructions facility • Improvement to Range Graph command • New commands in OrcaFlex spreadsheet • OrcaFlex spreadsheets can be added to OrcaFlex batch form

  3. Line length Wizard Lines • Plasticity Wizard • Non-linear torsional stiffness • New Flex Joints modelling objects • Pre-bend capability • Line Clashing report • Node axis direction drawing • New results variables

  4. Coupled analysis features Vessels • Applied loads now available for 6 d.o.f. • Full control over which loads included in vessel calculations • Better results reporting

  5. Wind loads now applied to Lines and 6D Buoy Wings Environment • Vertical Wind profile

  6. Lines can be excluded from statics Model Building and Calculations • Unstable simulations can now be saved • Connection arclengths can now be relative to End B. This applies to Line Attachments, Links, Winches and 6D Buoys. This is particularly useful with the new Line Length Wizard.

  7. Allows user supplied function to control OrcaFlex data during dynamics External Functions • For example, heave compensated winches can be modelled with a PID controller • Data which can be controlled this way: - Vessel & 6D Buoy applied loads - Wing Orientation angles - Winch tension & payout rate - Current speed & direction

  8. Distributed OrcaFlex Miscellaneous Developments • Move selected objects • Thumbnail view in Explorer
