  2. Why is data important? • High level data only indicates • Deep dive and analysis: the story behind the headlines • Softer intelligence • Triangulate: what peer challengers know, the level of LA knowledge and understanding, what children /families say

The Children's Improvement Board asked C4EO to develop: • C4EO’s existing offer • Data Specialists • Tailored support • Data Tool • New CIB deliverables • Prototype data profiles • Data architecture • Links to LGID Inform • C4EO also developed • Webinar training • Data Directors Summary (knowledge review) • Self assessment framework • Performance Audit

  4. Consultation findings… • 63 respondents to online survey (58 LAs inc. 25 DCSs) • Further one to one and group meetings with 5 LAs, DfE, other sector colleagues Who said…. • need rationalisation and synergy of data profiles • include a context page (inc IMD) • change the format and order

  5. Consultation findings… (cont.) A national set of performance indicators should be: • outcome focussed • include early years, care and adoption indicators • include less attainment indicators • be aligned to DfE proposed new safeguarding indicators

Proposed next steps • Refine the LA profile following sector feedback • Continue work between C4EO data tool and LGID Inform • Ensure there is a good knowledge hub • How can data and it’s use can be further developed to support peer challengers and DCS/Lead members. • Continue to listen to the needs of • sector, including early adopters and • peer challengers and develop • data with them
