  2. Why should we choose a Diesel Engine? Presented by Kompass India

  3. Importance of Diesel Engine • The fuel prices have been skyrocketing during recent years. That is why; the demand of diesel has been omnipresent. Thanks to the modern science and technology that invented diesel engine which was proved to be a boon to the modern world. There is no such big price difference between diesel and gasoline. However, the diesel has more energy efficiency in comparison to gasoline and petroleum products.

  4. The modus operandi of diesel engine http://in.kompass.com/live/en/g53010103/manufacturing/internal-combustion-engines-1.html

  5. There are two sorts of ignition. The gasoline engines run on spark ignition, while, diesel engine depends upon compression ignition that ignites the fuel. The air is brought in to the engine that creates high compression which heats up the machine and initiates the ignition due to extreme temperature. However, the gasoline gets ignited at a much lower temperature.

  6. There is a difference between the technology of gasoline and diesel engine. The gas engine works on the blend of air and gas, whereas, the diesel performs on blending the diesel and air. The injector is used for the purpose of injecting, while, carburetor is used for the same. The fuel and air passes together in a gas engine and then compressed that brings the overall efficiency. However, the diesel engine compresses only air and the efficiency can be manifold. The ratio of diesel engine compression is 14:1 and 25:1, while the ratio for gasoline engine is 8:1 and 12:1.

  7. Advantages of a Diesel Engine

  8. ADVANTAGES The today’s diesel engine is far more advanced than the bygone days. Relatively, it requires less maintenance cost. The diesel engine is stronger and trustable Since the fuel in diesel engine auto-ignites, hence no sparking. There is a low maintenance with diesel engine due to absence of spark plugs and wires.
