  4. Superhero Characters • Analyse the representation of a superhero and super villain • Batman & The Joker • Spider-Man & Green Goblin • Thor & Loki • The Hulk & Bruce Banner • Is it always clear who it the hero and who is the villain? • Chose characters from a film you have watched

  5. Superhero Equality • How are these groups represented in the superhero movie: • Men • Women • Ethnic Groups • Disabled people

  6. Stars • Are there any similarities between the different actors who have played various superhero roles: • Superman • Batman • Spider-Man • Spend some time online researching the various actors and note in your book…

  7. Stars • List your three favourite film stars • If they could be a superhero, which hero would they be? • Why would you choose them? • Do any actors play ‘against type’? • Discuss with the group……

Summary • Do superhero movies tend to feature the same characters? • Why do you think this might be? • Do you think the representation is fair? • What type of actor is normally associated with superhero films? • Write the answers down and discuss with a partner (someone you don’t normally work with!)
