The Emerging Crisis of Aged Homelessness - While the people who experience homelessness are not the same from day to day--or even year to year--the 1980s saw the emergence of a generational dislocation that would sustain a heightened risk for homelessness among this birth cohort. Now, that generation is prematurely aging and dying. Older homeless adults have medical ages that far exceed their biological ages. Claire’s Favorite Information • NAEH Conference

National Alliance to End Homelessness Solutions for Individual Homeless Adults Conference The National Alliance to End Homelessness is a nonpartisan organization committed to preventing and ending homelessness in the United States. • Miracle Messages campaign and the great work they are doing there.  • Miracle Messages is a nonprofitmessage delivery service to help our neighbors experiencing homelessness reconnect with their loved ones. • Considering SSVF is being directed to look at diversion tactics to address homelessness first this project could be a pretty inexpensive resource to help connect family across several states.  Additionally, it could help save funds for more needy individuals.  Gus’ Favorite Information • NAEH Conference

Expanding Shelter Options – Virginia is training the faith-based community on low barrier policies. Nebraska is investing in host homes for youth. Serving Rural Communities- Street outreach is the front door to services in places without shelter. Engage the community to build a resource team at the same time. Ways to Use Data Using GPS and heat mapping to match resources with people living in unsheltered locations. Racial equity data analysis lead to the creation of a centralized diversion fund.
