The Sacraments • An Outward Sign, Instituted by Christ, To Bring Grace. • Baptism: Washing with water • Confirmation: Anointing (sealing) with oil • Eucharist: Bread and Wine • Marriage: The Covenant Bond (Exchange of vows and union of bodies) • Holy Orders: Laying on of Hands • Reconciliation: The words of Forgiveness • Anointing of the Sick: Anointing with Oil

The Sacraments • The Sacraments of Initiation • Baptism • Removes all sins committed • Indelible Mark on the soul • Only given / received once • Confirmation • Strengthens / refills the soul against temptation • Was once given as part of baptism • Came into prominence with Infant Baptism • Indelible Mark on the soul • Only Given / received once

The Sacraments • The Sacraments of Healing • Reconciliation / Penance • Heals the soul of effects of Sin • Our confession of sins brings forgiveness by God • God forgives our sins • We do some form of penance to atone for the sins committed • Anointing of the Sick • Prepares us for eternity • Brings about the forgiveness of sins committed
