Hurricane Tracking • Plot the tracking information for your specific hurricane • LAT= Latitude (in degrees North) • LON= Longitude (in degrees West) • WIND Speed= in mph; 1 knot = 1.15 mph • PR= pressure (inches of mercury); • 1 inch of mercury = 33.86 millibars • Use the wind speeds to figure out the status for each point you plot. Label this on your tracking chart using abbreviations • Tropical Storm = TS; Tropical Depression = TD
