  1. Transformers and inductors are two important devices used in the electronic industry, both similar in appearance, but very different in other aspects like construction, functioning, and applications. As a layman, you may not be able to tell the difference between the two, which is why we’re here to familiarize you with some of the notable differences. Based on the fundamentals of electromagnetics, the basic and applied principles of transformer and inductor design for power electronic applications are quite diverse, in various aspects of filtering currents, storing electromagnetic energy, providing physical isolation between circuits, and performing stepping up and down on voltages. Read the blog below to learn the details. The construction Inductors are passive two-terminal electrical components, made of an electrical conducting wire wound over a magnetic core made of iron or ferrite, which stores energy temporarily in its magnetic field, when current flows through it. And, a change in the current flow creates a voltage. Transformers consist of two coils of insulated wire wound around a magnetic core, made basically of iron, ferrite, or steel. One coil is connected to an input

  2. source of alternating current that produces a constantly varying magnetic field around the coil, which in turn creates an alternating current in the other coil that is connected to a separate electrical circuit, to give an output. The capacities An inductor is characterized by its inductance – the ratio of the voltage to the rate of current change – counted in the unit of Henry (H). The basic range of inductance of an inductor is from 1 µH (10−6H) to 1 H. The ratio of the number of turns in the first coil to the number of turns in the second coil is the turns ratio, which determines the ratio of voltages in the two coils. The ratio of the electric current strength in the two coils is inverse to the voltage ratio, which is why the electrical power is same in both coils. The applications Inductors are used in AC electronic equipment to block AC while allowing DC to pass through. They separate signals of different frequencies in electronic filters, and when combined with capacitors, they make tuned circuits. Transformers are used for power conversion, LED lighting, and in high-voltage and electrostatic spraying applications. The types The main types of inductors include powdered iron core, ferrite core, and choke inductors. Air core inductors are also widely used. The main types of transformers include step up, step down, power, toroid, isolation, and auto transformers. At Miracle Electronics, all the above-mentioned types of inductors and transformers are manufactured, using a variety of techniques, from automated to handcrafted methods. Only the best-in-class products are manufactured here, each one being RoHS and REACH compliant. Readily available products are easily available, along with customized services being offered to clients looking for unique merchandise to suit their particular needs. Miracle Electronics is thus an exclusive transformer and inductor manufacturer in India, where you can get a variety of high-quality electronic equipment, all under a single roof.
