  5. BE CONSISTENT Establish big changes between semesters or at the beginning of the academic year. Address issues in a timely manner. No favorites.

  6. BE FAIR Life is not fair; get used to it. -Bill Gates

  7. BE FAIR Having or exhibiting a disposition that is free of favoritism or bias; impartial.

  8. BE INTENTIONAL What are we doing to provide development opportunities for our student employees? Is that our mindset?

  9. BE INTENTIONAL Help them see the opportunities within the job… Transferable skills Time management skills

  10. BE INTENTIONAL Help them see the opportunities within the job… Establish a good work ethic Establish a reference base

  11. BE INTENTIONAL Get to know your students… Meet with them individually Ask questions Establish learning outcomes

  12. BE APPROACHABLE Do your students feel like they can ask questions? Do your students feel like they can share mistakes?

  13. BE RESPECTFUL Do we treat students the way you want to be treated? How can we demonstrate respect to our students?

  14. BE FUN What are ways that you can make work more enjoyable for the students?
