Non-tariff instruments – textiles and clothing 2007 Quotas (double-checking) including limits for outward processing Quotas (single-checking) including limits for outward processing Prior monitoring (double-checking) Post monitoring (border monitoring) Obligatory towards Uzbekistan. Oligatory erga omnes Obligatory on the basis of separate unilateral EU regulations – towards Montenegro and North Korea Obligatory towards China and Belarus.

Statistical data (part 1) • In 2007: • Increase of all textiles and clothing imports to Poland, by ca. 10% - from the level of EUR 4,6 mld up to EUR 5 mld • Increase of exports from Poland of all textiles and clothing by ca. 8,6 % - from the level of EUR 3,1 mld Euro to over EUR 3,4 took place • Within January - March 2008: • Increase of all textiles and clothing imports to Poland, by ca. 8,5% - from the level of EUR 1,2 mld up to EUR 1,3 mld took place • Exports of all textiles and clothing from Poland was retained on the level of ca. EUR 900 mln

Statistical data (part 2) • In 2006 • China share in total imports of textiles and clothing to Poland was 14,22% (world – 4,59 mld €; China – 653 mln €). • In 2007 • China share in total imports of textiles and clothing to Poland was 17,47% (world – 5 mld €; China – 883 mln €). • In 2008 (3 months) • China share in total imports of textiles and clothing to Poland was 20,53% (world – 1,3 mld €; China – 278 mln €).

Market Access Database – EU database on the access to the third countries’ markets • EU internet database containing information on formalities, customs tarrifs and possible restrictions in exports of goods to a given country is available on: http://mkaccdb.eu.int • Using this database is free of charge and does not involve any formalities (registration etc.)
