  1. Mood congruence People in positive mood tend to recall positive, happy episodes of their lives and to give more positive judgmentson themselves or others. In contrast, people in a negative mood tend to recall more negative, unhappy episodes of their lives and to give more negative judgments (see Bower et al., 1981;Forgas & Bower, 1987). In sum, the emotional valence of retrieved information andthe emotional flavor of judgments corresponds to the currentmood that a person feels; this is called mood congruence. © POSbase 2003 Contributor
