The Global Achievement Gap by Tony Wagner • The gap between the “real world” and the world of school is greater than ever. • What, then, does it mean in today’s world to be an active and informed citizen, and how does a democratic society best educate for citizenship? • Parker responded, “I look for someone who asks good questions. Our business is changing.” • How to think, as opposed to merely covering the chapters in textbooks and preparing for multiple choice tests. • Unfortunately, the bet that No Child Left Behind will save us is a losing one. • They need to learn the inquiry process. • We’re getting what we measure, but we’re measuring the wrong things.
