Wrote an alphabet borrowed from Greeks and spoke Latin different from any other language Built tunnels and built dams to drain fields cities on hill tops Houses where 1 story and had clay tile roof that caved in and water went into court yard Filled tombs with gold outside each city was a necropolis or cemetery made up of acres of tombs Dead bodies where buried in tombs underneath the ground called catacombs The Etruscans believed that the universe was divided into province ruled by different gods
