  2. What is Baptism? • baptizw – “to submerge in liquid” • ceremonial identification with Jesus

  3. Why is it so Important? 1 Peter 3:21 …baptism now saves you – not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience – through the resurrection of Jesus Christ

  4. Why is it so Important? Ephesians 2:8–9 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

  5. Why is it so Important? • Our Lord commands it Matthew 28:19-20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you...”

  6. Why is it so Important? • It publically declares our allegiance to Jesus Galatians 3:27 For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

  7. Why is it so Important? • It publically unites us to His church Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
