  1. Mrs. Guillen’s Class Rules • Be Safe • I will follow all laboratory safety rules at all times. This means no food, gum, candy, or drinks, no running or rough-housing, following directions, and not touching lab equipment or classroom pets without permission. • I will only go to lab stations when directed to do so. • I will report any broken materials, injuries, or spills in the lab. • I will ask questions if not sure of laboratory procedures. • Be Responsible • I will come to class prepared. If I don’t have the supplies I need, I’ll get them before the bell rings. • If I am absent from class, it is my responsibility to be sure I get the work/notes I missed. If I know I’ll be out for school business, I’ll get the work before hand. • I will arrive at class in dress code with my ID visible on my torso. • I will follow the school rules outlined in the student handbook. I am required to comply with those rules and will do so diligently. • Students receive regular grade reports that will help me identify missing or failing work. It is my responsibility to get makeup work or extra credit. • I will use classroom supplies carefully and conserve as much as possible. When finished using the supplies, I will return them to their proper place. • I will clean up after myself; if I made a mess, I will clean it up. • > I will take care of personal business before the bell rings. I may not leave the first or last 20 minutes of class. • I will follow PISD AUP agreement when using technology. • Be Respectful • I will speak courteously and appropriately to everyone in the classroom, this includes other students, teachers, administrators, guests, substitutes and myself. Name calling and slurs are unacceptable. • I will not use profanity or have discussions that are inappropriate for school. • I will not touch things that do not belong to me without permission. Mrs. G provides areas that I am able to get supplies, as you I them; any other space is off limits. My teacher’s desks and other students’ belongings are always off limits. • I will not interfere with the learning of others; I will keep in mind that some people can’t learn with a lot of distractions. • I will not interrupt a discussion or conversation unless it is an absolute emergency. • Be Honest • I will do and submit my own work. Working as a group means everyone is contributing to the learning process. I understand that cheating is when a student directly copies another’s work or seeks help on a quiz or exam. • I will not plagiarize. If it is not my idea, I must give credit to the source where I found it. • Be On Time • I will arrive before the bell, collect the necessary materials, sit in my seat and begin the warm up by the time the bell rings. • I will turn in assignments and extra credit when it is due.
