  2. Daily Language Practice • 1. Have you read “The Adventure of the Speckled Band” by sir Arthur Conan Doyle. (2) • 2. It is about a baffling mystery the main character is the famous detective Sherlock Holmes. (1)

  3. Vocabulary Unit One • With a partner • 4 minutes • Actively practice spelling. • Return to seat before time is up.

  4. Ex. 5, p. 313 • The telegraph was the first electronic medium. It sent and received electrical signals over long-distance wires. One of the first inventors of the telegraph was Samuel F.B. Morse. He was an artist and inventor who lived in the United States. In 1837, Samuel F.B. Morse demonstrated the system in New York. Morse Code later evolved from his invention.
