  1. Independent Reading Project Book #2 By Ethan Chapman

  2. Details of the book… • Title- The Lost Hero • Author- Rick Riordan • Genre- Fiction

  3. Summary… • The Lost Hero is a book about three kids who are demi-gods that go on a quest to free a goddess named Hera from a band of giants that kidnapped her. The giants kidnapped her because she is the only one who can awaken an evil goddess named Gaea. Gaea has the power and wants to destroy the gods of Olympus. The three kids named Jason, Piper, and Leo need to stop the giants from awakening Gaea who will destroy all the other gods.

  4. Recommendation… • I recommend this book because it is very exciting and adventurous. I like reading about the monsters that the three main characters need to fight in order to save Hera. The writing style is action packed and I like the details given about each character and all the different events that happen. I also recommend this book because it kept my attention and I wanted to keep reading it more and more.

  5. Example of monster that Jason Piper and Leo fought…

  6. Hera was the goddess that Jason, Piper and Leo were trying free…

  7. Picture of Zeus…Jason’s father…

  8. Favorite part of the book… • My favorite part of the book was when Jason had to fight a giant named Porphyrion. This giant was going to be the replacement for Zeus (Jason’s father) and Jason needed to defeat the giant so he wouldn’t have a chance to replace his father. The fight description told of how Jason used the giant’s own swords against him in a battle.

  9. Emotions that I felt while reading the book… • There was a chapter that I read that made me feel like the main characters weren’t going to succeed in their quest. When they were at the Ice Kingdom of Boreas, the god of the North Winds, I really thought he was going to destroy the kids. His father, Aeolus, commanded that any demi-gods be destroyed because they let out all the storm spirits during the war between the gods and Titans. Fortunately the three kids got away.
