Hotel Civic Center Improvements • LCCC-Change the use of the civic center – hotel & improved space to attract more business/events • Need conference hotel in Lake Charles – diversity in attracting meetings • - Hotel will attract conferences • Hotel / restaurants clustered near casino • Move hotel development towards downtown area

  3. Water screen – laser shows Floating “Ambassador ships” Maritime Museum Transient dock facilities, not permanent – Boat parades – relocate marina to south end near Clarence Street. Dock and break water – engineering to calm water. Eliminate the “backlash” of wakes at seawall - Maritime activities will be a great attractor – Adds to golf, gaming, etc. Existing full service marinas – may not need this facility located on the lake front Competition w/ existing business (marina) On bulkheads – extend boardwalk with lighting and music Boating generates activity Add fishing pier, charter boats Keep pedestrian way/boardwalk intact Marina/ Water Attractors

Connect children’s activities = PPG & Park Concessions Carousel, etc. Shade structures/seating Ensure public access Trackless train-trolley/tram Something for everyone Planetarium / fireworks Water park feature in conjunction with hotel Embellish PPG fountain area with benches and shade Retail to cater to children activities Public lessons Amphitheater & green space used for local acts. Family Attractors

  5. Track – trolley along seawall to N. Beach Future of I-10 bridge Feeder Road access - redevelopment plan for additions to the plan Connect Mill street across the Blvd Connect the development to the existing DT district Replace existing parking with decks -Multi purpose parking garages – use ground floors for breakout rooms & retail development. Tie lake front development across lakeshore drive signage, design details – walkways, etc. Keep pedestrian way/boardwalk intact Trolley circulator downtown & historic districts Circulation

Educate public on positives for economic development opportunities It’s Time – be bold Leadership both public and private - Downtown & Lake front = one master plan - Remove physical & perceived boundaries - Look at adjacent properties to work with this planning process to open up to entire Plan - Multi purpose parking garages – use ground floors for breakout rooms & retail development. - Blend architectural Leadership and Master Plan

  7. Restaurants • Tie Restaurants closer to land – one near hotel one near south end marina • Water front restaurants • More practical to locate restaurants at base of piers vs. on ends

  8. Economic Development Base • Create opportunity for spin off developments • Need area on beach to rent “activity rooms”
