  4. VOLUNTEER!!! School Supply Drive: 10 donated items = ½ hr community service 20 donated items = 1 hr community service 30 donated items = 2 hrs community service Hunger Awareness Month: 5 donated items = ½ hr community service 10 donated items = 1 hr community service 15 donated items = 2 hrs community service Children’s Festival: Saturday, Oct. 6th9am-12:30pm or 12:30pm-4pm Contact: Amanda Lloyd at amanda.lloyd@norfolk.gov
  5. TUTORING In need of tutors and tutees! Please sign up if you’re interested in either one For tutors: your services will be counted toward your community service hours and for every hour over your 10, you will get a raffle ticket
  6. VPA Oct. 24-26 Wintergreen Resort in Wintergreen, VA $15 membership fee $10 registration fee Due by Oct. 1st Room rates (1 night): 2br condo (4 people) - $38 3br condo (6 people) - $33.81
  7. SEPA Conference until Mar. 13th – 16th (staying to the 17th to hang out) Omni CNN Center in Atlanta, GA $40 membership fee $30 registration fee Due by Oct. 7th Room rates (Due in January): 4 people - $79.50 6 people - $106 8 people – $79.50 10 people - $95.40 12 people - $79.50
  8. When are dues due?? If you plan on attending: October VPA membership and conference registration are due by Oct 1st Psi Chi/APS dues and VPA hotel fees are due by Oct 5th. March SEPA membership and conference registration are due by Oct 8th Hotel fees will be do in January If you register for a conference but fail to pay the hotel fees a hold will be placed on your account till it is paid
  9. When are dues due?? If you do not plan on attending the October VPA or SEPA then Psi Chi/APS dues are due on November 2nd Please remember that you can only be in either Psi Chi or APS

Homecoming float The theme for 2012-13 is “Cirque Du Monarch: The greatest place on earth” “PSI CHI, The International Honor Society in Psychology, and APS, the Association of Psychology Students have decided to go daring! Our float is exploding with ODU spirit, fun circus themed decorations, a tight rope walker, and is complete with the main attraction: BIG BLUE! ROAR!!” Any ideas are welcome!!
  15. Float judging criteria The Judges’ table will be located on Monarch Way behind the Ted Constant Center. During the parade, all parade floats will be judged on the following criteria: • Originality of theme and float • Incorporating the Homecoming Theme • Quality of Construction/Special Effects • Enthusiasm of people on and around the float • Overall Impression of the float The winning organization will be announced during half-time at the Homecoming game.
  16. Other ways to help out If you have a truck with a truck bed attachment A truck bed that we could borrow for building the homecoming float on for a few weeks Place on campus or near campus to put the float is needed!
