Use of iPad in Classroom • Different apps teach different skills • Matching and Sorting: Find & Match ABCs, 123 • Colors and Shape Recognition: Shapes, Patterns, and Music • Letter Recognition: ABCs with Dally Dino • Number and Counting Recognition: Fun with Numbers and Puzzles • Writing, Drawing, Tracing: Trace Your Name • Problem Solving: Fuzzles • Reading and Spelling: Reading Readiness

  4. Advantages • Allows teachers one on one time with student • Leadership and Peer Tutoring • Support Creativity • Collaboration between students • Learning skills nontraditionally • Exposure to simple technology now can help understanding of complex technology later on

  5. Disadvantages • Students may damage iPad if handled incorrectly and use is not carefully monitored – damage expenses • New versions of iPad are made often • Students may not be interested • Over stimulating • Contributes to sedentary time – if used when child could be playing elsewhere
