  1. ATLAS Meta-data Workshop Meta-data services and AMI are key components of ATLAS data analysis chain. Since March 2010 AMI is part of ADC project. Following this decision ATLAS computing management organized this Workshop to discuss Meta- data and Book-keeping handling, clarify links with Meta-data providers and allow the Computing and AMI Project Management to establish a work plan for the next phase of software development of these services. From 2001 to 2003 members of the four LHC experiments and of LCG participated in the user requirements collection for the distributed computing of the LHC experiments. At that time the focus was on the development of services for production activities. Meta-Data handling requirements have been collected and several options had been identified for the software development. ATLAS meta-data Workshop

  2. ATLAS Meta-data Workshop The one which was favored by the experiments was that the support for meta-data queries should be split between: • The Dataset Meta-data services provided by the middleware layer • The Experiment Meta-data services provided by the experiment framework layer A few years later, LHC is running, it is the right time to get feedback from the production teams and users about the current implementation and discuss the issues in order to adapt the current functionalities taking into account the experience gained over the last years. To this end, the Workshop is structured in the following way: ATLAS meta-data Workshop

  3. ATLAS Meta-data AgendaDay-1 Meta-data: point of view of physics (20') Borut Paul Kersevan (Jozef Stefan Institute) , JunjiTojo (KEK) Meta-data experience in other collaborations (40') Jerome LAURET (BNL) , PredragBuncic (CERN) Meta-data and data preparation (20') Andreas Hoecker (CERN) Meta-data: technology overview (20') David Malon (ANL) Meta-data and distributed analysis (20‘) Johannes Elmsheuser (Ludwig-Maximilians-UniversitätMünchen) ATLAS computing overview (10') Alexei Klimentov (BNL) AMI and its place in the ATLAS metadata infrastructure.
