  1. Stonesoft Testing Software(STS) Quick Guide

Software download • Stonesoft Testing Software is downloaded from Stonesoft’s ATS Partner site http://my.stonesoft.com (You need an ATS username and a password to get into Stonesoft’s ATS Partner site) • Write your username and password, click LOGIN • Download the file Sts0102b.ZIP to your computer’s hard disk.

  3. Software installation [1/1] • Extract the zip-file to your hard disk. • After extraction start the installation by clicking Setup.exe • You can install the Instructor Console, the Participant Console or both. • If you are installing the Instructor part of the software, then choose Instructor • If you are installing the Participant part of the software, then choose Participant • You have to install Stonesoft Testing Software to every computer that will be used in testing (one Instructor and any number of participants). The Instructor and Participant consoles can also run on the same machine.

  4. Software installation [2/2] • Now you have installed the testing software. However, you must also install the test files (*.dat) to the Instructor’s computer. • *.dat files must be placed to the ”Exams” folder C:\Program Files\Stonesoft Testing Software\Exams\ • When the *.dat files are in Exams folder, the test can begin. • Demotests are available on the ATS Partner Site (demotests.zip).

  5. Instructor console • Click the STS Instructor icon on the Instructor’s computer desktop • The Stonesoft Testing Software will begin. • Wait some time (5 to 10 seconds) until you see ”Instructor started.”. • Give personal ID numbers to each test participant.

  6. Participant Console • Participants are not allowed to start before the instructor is ready and can see ”Instructor started.” • Participants then click the STS Participant icon on their desktop. • The participant chooses ”Take Exam,” and • Inserts the ID and clicks ”Take Exam.”

  7. Participant Console • The software makes sure that the participant is going to have the right test. • Participant can see the time available for the test. • When all the questions have been answered, the participant clicks ”Finish” and ”Submit the Exam.”

  8. The result – Participant Console • The results comes in instantly. • Click ”Continue” • After the test, the participant can provide feedback. • Click ”Give Feedback”.

  9. The result – Instructor Console • The instructor gets information when the test is completed.

  10. The result – Instructor Console • When all the participants have completed their tests and provided feedback, the instructor clicks • ”Print results” and • ”Print feedback summary”

  11. The result – Instructor Console • If the instructor tries to quit before all the participants have finished, the instructor gets a warning.

  12. Sending the results • When all the participants have completed the test, the result file (sts.dat) can be found from the ”Results” folder C:\Program Files\Stonesoft Testing Software\Results\ • The Instructor will then mail the ”sts.dat” file to: training@stonesoft.com
