  2. Our History EMRA is the largest and oldest independent resident organization in the world. EMRA was founded in 1974 and today has a membership of nearly 12,000 residents, medical students, and alumni. 1992 = Medical Student Section formed. 1994 = First Medical Student Forum. Today = Nearly 2,000 student members.

  14. EMRA Medical Student Council Each year, 21 students from across the country are selected to serve on EMRA's Medical Student Council. This is a phenomenal opportunity to become more involved in the field of Emergency Medicine, network with students and faculty from coast to coast, and develop resources to assist fellow students navigate medical school and the residency application process. Each position also includes funding to attend the SAEM Annual Meeting and ACEP Scientific Assembly www.emra.org/students/medical-student-council Applications due February 15th each year.
