  1. The Basics of Pokémon By: Rebekah cook

  2. Table of Contents The Pokémon 10 World The Types 11 Intro Time, Pokémon 2 Let’s Meet Some Pokémon 5 Conclusion 12 1

  3. Intro Time, Pokémon Did You Know Pokémon were once called “Magical Creatures”? Hello, welcome to the world of Pokémon. I’m on a Pokémon journey, the name’s Rebekah. Pokémon are truly magnificent creatures. They come in many different sizes, colors, and types. People and Pokémon live side by side in the Pokémon world. 2

  4. Intro Time, PokémonThe Pokéball Here, this is a pokéball. That’s right, poke – ascent – e-ball. The top of the pokéball is red, the bottom of the pokéball is white. When you touch the button in the middle of the pokéball a Pokémon jumps out. Here’s the pokéball You press the button and…… And presto, a Pokémon comes out 3

  5. Intro Time, PokémonThe Pokéball Did You Know That There are 31 different pokéballs. You can catch different Pokémon in each pokéball. To catch a Pokémon, throw a pokéball at it. If the Pokémon is strong enough it will escape the pokéball, but if you weaken it, you might be able to catch it. This is only the beginning! There is the world of Pokémon, people of the Pokémon world, types, and much, much more. Go ahead hop into the world of Pokémon! 4

  6. Let’s Meet Some Pokémon Okay. So now you know what Pokémon and the pokéball are. Next, it’s time for you to meet some Pokémon. Did You Know That there are 718 known Pokémon 5

  7. Let’s Meet Some PokémonPIKACHU The first Pokémon you’re going to meet is Pikachu, (Pea-ka-choo) the most well known Pokémon in the world. This electrifying Pokémon is an electric mouse. In the anime Pikachu was Ash’s first Pokémon. The red pouches on Pikachu’s cheeks store electricity, so Pikachu can give someone a high voltage shock. Pikachu’s tail is strangely shaped like a lightning bolt. Pikachu evolves from Pichu (Pea-chu) and evolves into Raichu(Rye-chu). Evolution is when a Pokémon changes into another Pokémon. The Pokémon could look totally different. You can evolve a Pokémon by experience, stones, or love. It’s different for every Pokémon. Pikachu is evolved into Raichu by a stone, but cute, little Pichu evolves by experience points. Pikachu is one electric mouse that you’ll never forget. 6

  8. Let’s Meet Some PokémonMAGIKARP It’s time to meet poor Magikarp (Mag-a-karp). This little red Pokémon is supposedly the weakest Pokémon ever. Magikarp can only learn three moves, Splash, Tackle, and Flail. The way to tell if Magikarp is a boy or a girl is by its barbells. If it’s a boy, its barbells are yellow, if it’s a girl, its barbells are white. Magikarp evolves into Gyarados, a giant, blue water type Pokémon. Magikarp evolves from experience points. If it’s raining outside Magikarp’s Swift Swim will increase Magikarp’s speed. Even though Magikarp is weak, it evolves into one of the best water types of all! 7

  9. Don’t worry because there’s still more to learn about, so get ready! 8

  10. The Pokémon World Now it’s time to focus on the Pokémon world. There are 14 different regions, but I’m only going to talk about the main 6 regions. 9

  11. The Six Main Regions There are six regions, Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unava, and Kalos. Kanto is the first region ever discovered in the Pokémon World. It shares enemies with Johto, Team Rocket. Hoenn and Sinnoh both introduce contests to the Pokémon World. Unava leaves behind contests and do Pokémon musicals instead. With great new Pokémon and knew ideas, Kalos is the last of the six main regions. Like the regions there are six main tree-named professors. These are Oak, Elm, Birch, Rowen, Juniper, and Sycamore 10

  12. Pokémon Types To finish it off I’m going to talk about Pokémon types. There are 18 types. These are Fire, Water, Grass, Electric, Ground, Fighting, Rock, Dragon, Flying, Normal, Dark, Poison, Ice, Steel, Ghost, Psychic, Bug, and Fairy. Each type is either weak to something, strong against something, or completely ineffective against something. 11

  13. Conclusion In conclusion, Pokémon are amazing, and magnificent creatures. All Pokémon are to be loved and taken good care of. The Pokémon world has six regions and 18 known types. Also there are 718 known Pokémon. Go ahead meet every single one of them. So bye for now, and I wish you good luck on your new Pokémon journey! 12
