Conclusions • EYEO closing conference November, Lisbon : Achievements : • > 430 National activities • Balanced treatment of grounds – multiple discriminations • Application Gender Mainstreaming • Dialogue initiated with all actors • Comprehensive commitment all actors • Comprehensive media campaign • Establishment cooperation in EQUINET

Future work on anti-discrimination • Need for reliable data = prerequisite • Positive measures required • Sustaining of government mechanisms that are established • Continued EU awareness-raising 4 R’s • Immediate and full implementation of existing legislative framework • Fill in the legislative gaps • Strong link between social exclusion, poverty and unequal opportunities

  11. What do we remember ? • Multiple discriminations as a threat or an opportunity ? • Gender as a Red Thread ? (omnipresent concept) • New EU legislation
