Next Step Long Line: distance over copper line from cabinet over 1.2km so the superfast digital signal deteriorates to below 24 Mbps Exchange Only Line: telephone lines connect directly to the telephone exchange rather that through a copper cabinet requiring a costly, technically challenging solution Connection not automatically upgraded to superfast speed REACHING 100% SUPERFAST BROADBAND FOR ALL 100% (R100) £600m initial investment to deliver superfast broadband – min 30 Mbps - to 147,000 premises targeting contract completion 2021 Meantime The Better Broadband Voucher Scheme Up to £350 to households and businesses that will not benefit from superfast broadband within the next 12 months to access a basic broadband service offering download speeds of at least 10 Mbps
