Role of Monitors/Mentors/Advisors EULEX will assist the Justice, KPS and Customs in their progress towardsustainabilityand accountability and to further develop and strengthen an independentmulti-ethnicservice, ensuring it is free from political interference and adhering tointernationally recognized standards and European best practices (EULEX Mission Statement).

  7. What is civil society? • The arena of uncoerced collective action around shared interests, purposes and values. In theory, its institutional forms are distinct from those of the state, family and market, though in practice, the boundaries between state, civil society, family and market are often complex, blurred and negotiated.
