MD Team Strategy • January through April • 85% effort - Retention / Arrears Recovery • 15% effort - Recruitment • May through August • 15% effort - Arrears Recovery • 85% effort - Recruitment • September through December • 85% Recruitment • 15% Renewal monitoring Recruitment is now the primary growth-driver of membership 7

MD Team Strategy • Maintain total membership count at same level as prior year • Recruit new (not a member previously) higher grade members above the Section’s total recruitment from the prior year • Migrating members – those who moved from one section to another do not qualify • Use SAMIEE for MD analysis in your area and reaching your membersh 8

IEEE-USA Recruitment Incentive Pilot – September 2010 • Sections must maintain their total HG dues paying membership count at the same level as the prior year. • Sections must exceed their HG recruitment year-over-year. • Congratulations to • Cedar Rapids • Central Illinois • Milwaukee • Missouri Slope The program will continue in 2011 • Members receive $15 per higher grade member recruited. • $2 per student member recruited • HG members cannot earn awards on students recruited. • Annual max award of $90 per member 9

Plan for 2011 • Develop Membership Development Plan for R4 • MD Chair in every Section • Membership Kit  for all sections • Promote the of use SAMIEEE and access to the MD Virtual Community • Promote Membership Development: Member benefits and the value of Networking • Visit Student Branches and discuss the career benefits of IEEE membership and life after graduation 10

Plan for 2011 (Ctnd) • Participate in the MD meetings. • Work with local Societies to support a membership desk at their conferences. • Make use of the IEEE-USA Membership Incentive and IEEE membership incentives. • Deliver MD Training at every Region Conference and meeting. • Promote Senior Member upgrades. • More communications with Section MD Chairs. 11
