FAAMA New Leader Training New Leader Training – Chapter By-Laws Purpose: Establishes Association Regulations for: Legal document establishingthe relationship to the FAAMA Binds the officers and members legally Sets qualifications for membership Sets qualifications for officers Sets the chapter’s dues structure Determines who can represent the chapter at the national convention

Your level of influence is directly tied to your character. Make a difference - ensure you are always a valuable resource.

Schedule regular meetings with local and national politicians Continually build and foster positive relationships Solicit and identify management issues Forward issues or recommendations to RD Schedule and conduct regular Chapter meetings

FAAMA New Leader Training New Leader Training - Chapter Management (Continued) Chapter Leadership Build and Maintain Committees (Teams)- energize the Chapter by increasing member participation – build Chapter ownership Chapter Executive Board – Delegate duties, solicit ideas Create committees as needed - For example: Election Committee (Nomination) – Manages Chapter officer nominations and elections. Budget Committee – Creates annual budgets By-Laws, Strategic Planning Committees – Creates proposed by-laws and Strategic plan update recommendations Meeting Committee – Plans meetings and annual social engagements

FAAMA New Leader Training New Leader Training - Chapter Management (Continued) Chapter Leadership (Continued) Chapter meeting management Solicit meeting committee volunteers to assist you Use off-site venues (e.g., local government conference rooms, restaurants, hotels, sports bars) Solicit meeting agenda items from membership Publish meeting agenda at least seven days prior to meeting Solicit and use local speakers (e.g., Mayor, Members of Congress, Business leaders)
