  2. What’s new at Berkeley • Admissions Data: • Mean GPA = 3.88 • Mean SAT I 25th-75th percentile range = 1960 to 2230 • Mean ACT 25th-75th percentile range = 29 to 33

What’s New at Berkeley Financial Aid: • 70% of ALL undergraduates received some form of aid • 36% received gift aid • Financial Aid for middle-class families increased by $3,500 per student Rankings: • #1 public university (U.S. News) • #2 in the world (Shanghai Jiao Tong University Ranking) • #2 in Teach for America participation New Initiatives: • Berkeley has added over 1,700 new seats in high demand courses and 7,780 seats in R & C courses. • 1 of 5 leading universities to launch Bosch Group’s $10 million energy initiative.

What’s New and Important at Our Colleges Chemistry: • AP Chemistry or IB Chemistry are important to be competitive • 1 semester of general Chem at a Community College is a good alternative Engineering: • New major - Energy Engineering (under approval) • No longer offering a second Bachelor’s Degree • 1 year Master’s Degree (5 year program) Letters and Science: • Asian Studies – New Track: Asian Religions • Interdisciplinary Studies – New Minor: Human Rights
