  1. LAW PROFESSIONS BECOME GLAMOROUS THIS DAYS!!

STUDY AT A NATIONAL LAW SCHOOL…
  2. OPT TO BE DIFFERENT!! Parents want their children and children themselves aim to become engineers or doctors, why don’t you think different? I am Alan Dev studying at NUALS.Let me explain to you what areNational Law Universities and the advantages studying there.Getting into a National Law school is not an easy thing but not a herculian task too. There is a wrong assumption that law students can only become advocates who don’t earn much, curse the movies which bring that wrong concept in the minds of people.
  3. If you are too motivated by movies, watch ‘Lincoln Lawyer’,you will see how glamorous the profession of a lawyer is. There are advocates who get paid lakhs for few minutes of appearance in court room and it ranges to crores for hours. Law students have a lot of job opportunities nowadays.
  4. IITs are for engineering,AIIMS for medicine and in the same way National Law Schools for Law. You have campus recruitments from all these prestigious law schools to law firms, banks, corporatesetc. If you are after salary and if that’s why you go for engineering and medicine, law too wont disappoint you. You can earn a starting salary ranging from 7 lakhsto 28 lakhs per year.It all depends on your ability.Ifyou are good enough you can have an average salary of 7 lakhs to 9 lakhs per year.
  5. What are National Law Schools Traditionally legal education in India was conducted through the medium of non-specialized universities of India which granted law degrees like any other graduate degree. These Universities referred and taught the curriculum prescribed by the Bar Council of India but since they were under the overall control and supervision of the University Grants Commission and therefore it was not possible for the Bar Council to effectively pursue reforms in legal education. This system continued for more than two decades with the overall legal education supervision by the Bar Council, since its establishment in terms of the Advocates Act, 1961. However there were calls for reforms from all quarters of the country in general because of the falling standards of the bar and there were mounting pressures over the Bar Council of India to bring forth change in the way in which legal education was imparted in India. The first concrete decision to this end was taken in 1984 when various proposals to modernize legal education were considered and approved by the "Legal Education Committee" of the Bar Council, in an attempt to improve legal education throughout India. One of the major proposals was the decision to establish specialized institutions to impart legal education in an integrated and diversified manner. The aim was to revitalize the legal profession by making law as an attractive profession and making it competitive to attract talent, which was hitherto diverted to other professional areas such as Medicine, Engineering, etc.
  6. Structure of National Law Schools All these law schools carry either a deemed university status or a university status, which empowered them to give their own degree which are recognised all over the world. Integrated course is offered-In these law schools, students studied for a law degree in integration with another degree of their choice. National status of law schools-  These law schools were required to establish and practice excellent and high standards, at par with other national level institutions imparting education in other wakes of social life. The conferment of national status also make admittance to these law schools at a prestigious choice and thus inviting meritorious students to get inclined to join  legal profession
  7. MODE OF ADMISSION As of 2012, admission to LLB and LLM in most of the autonomous law schools in India is based on performance in Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). However, the NLU,Delhi and the private law schools conduct their own admission tests.
  8. What are the jobs you can opt after LLB course? After doing LLByou can 1. start litigation2. join company as legal officer3. a bank as law officer4. public or govt offices as govts lawyer5. join law firms as associate6. you can join indian army as JAG
  9. My advise to you guys!! Even science students can write CLAT,its not a bad option. In fact majority of my classmates are science students and you find a lot of seniors who were science students. You will not find your life at law schools difficult even if you are coming from science background. Even if you are applying for other entrances like engineering and medicine, just apply for CLAT because CLAT falls on mid of May,you will get time to prepare for it after your board exams and other entrances.CLAT is not much difficult to crack if you can put some hardwork.
