Dr. Doriane C. Miller is the Inaugural Director of the Center for Community Health and Vitality at the University of Chicago Medical Center, accepting this position in January 2009. The Center for Community Health and Vitality’s mission is to improve population health outcomes for residents on the South Side of Chicago through community-engaged research, demonstration and service models. She is the co-chair of the Community Engagement Cluster of University of Chicago’s Institute for Translational Medicine. Dr. Miller received her medical degree from the University of Chicago. She completed a Primary Care Internal Medicine Residency and a General Medicine/Clinical Epidemiology Fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco Norma Sanders Smart Communities Program Manager, Southwest Smart Communities Partners (SSCP). Ms. Sanders has dedicated the last five years to working on technology planning, program management and integration in non-profit organizations. She is currently the Smart Communities Program Manager for the Southwest Smart Communities Partners (SSCP). The SSCP represents Auburn Gresham and Chicago Lawn, two of the five digitally underserved neighborhoods in Chicago that are participating in the Smart Communities program - the City's broadband adoption initiative. Prior to her work in the community, Ms. Sanders was a senior director for Motorola, Inc. where she spent 25 years managing global IT teams. She has a strong background in customer relations, and program management. She is a lifelong mentor, with a passion for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), journalism and arts education for youth.
