  1. Introducing the …print assessment made simple

  2. Print Audit Rapid Assessment Key Getting Started Follow these steps to open the RAK program: 1. Plug the USB key into the USB port of a PC or laptop (the program may then start automatically). Select the “Run the program option” 2. Or, using Windows Explorer, locate and select the USB drive on your computer. 3. From the USB key, double click on to the executable file called raklaunch.exe Note: Plugging the USB key into a network Server may return undesirable results.

  3. Print Audit Rapid Assessment Key To launch the scanning program 4. From the Rapid Assessment Key Menu click on the “Scan for Devices” link. 5. The End User License Agreement will appear. Have the client read through the agreement and select “I Accept” to continue.

  4. Print Audit Rapid Assessment Key To run a quick scan 6. To conduct a scan, click on the “New scan” button. After selecting New scan, you will be prompted to select the individual scan settings. 7. You must select either QuickScan, or Custom IP Range to determine the IP Addresses to scan. You may need to consult the IT Manager at the site to determine the specific IP range for their network. A Quick Scan is usually sufficient and will automatically estimate and scan the standard IP range of 254 IP addresses on the system which you are connected to. If you do not retrieve complete information regarding the devices on site, then you may need to broaden the scan by scanning a custom IP range.

  5. Print Audit Rapid Assessment Key To run a Custom scan Before scanning a custom IP range, you should consult the network administrator to determine the range required. 8. Select the Custom IP range option. Then input the starting IP address in the first custom window along with the ending IP address in the second. 9. Once entered, click the add button to establish the range, and click “Go” to begin the scan. Once the scan has completed, the results will be displayed in the Auditor window for immediate viewing. Scan data is automatically saved to the USB key in the “results” folder. Other scan options include specifying the Network Timeout Interval. The Network Timeout interval is the amount of time the program will wait for a response from a device before canceling the request. Decreasing this number will result in a faster, but potentially less accurate scan. Increasing this number will result in a longer, but more accurate scan.

  6. Print Audit Rapid Assessment Key Viewing & Reporting the Results Completed scans are automatically saved on the key and available for viewing through the RAK Reporting tool 10. To access RAK Reporting, re-open the Rapid Assessment Key Menu and click on the “Generate Reports” option. 11. Upon entering the reporting module, the user is automatically prompted to select an existing scan file, from the Results folder, to view. Highlight the file you wish to view and click “open”.

  7. Print Audit Rapid Assessment Key Creating Reports Once a scan file has been opened, the raw data from that scan is displayed in the grid. 12. Click on the reporting button located on the tool bar underneath the menu bar. 13. In the “select a report” dialogue box, choose the report you wish to create and click OK to produce that report. Comparison reports require the selection of an additional scan file to compare to.

  8. Print Audit Rapid Assessment Key Creating Reports Completed reports are generated immediately and can be viewed within the report generator, or printed to an output device. The completed reports are automatically titled and dated (scan date) and remain open and available for viewing until the report is closed or the program exited.
