  3. Objectives • Provide a forum for open discussion • Share best practices from each chapter • Understand SHRM expectations • Identify what the Virginia State Council can provide for you • Set goals for 2011

  4. Information Gathering • What type of communications does your chapter do? • What have you found to be the most successful way to communicate with your members? • What do you feel are your chapters’ best practices for communication and marketing?

  5. Information Gathering cont’d • Have you utilized communication to the local community through media (print, TV or radio)? Has this been effective? • Does your chapter have a website? • How do you store your chapter’s data? (original bylaws, minutes, etc.)

  11. SHRM – Newsletter SHRM Newsletter Article #3 “Managing Smart: Teaching Line Managers how to Supervise” Managing Smart is a unique service available to members of SHRM.
