  2. Easter is one of the most important Christian festivals. It celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. In 2013 Easter is from 30 March to 1 April.

  3. Ugly Wednesday The school finishes and the preparation for Easter starts Green Thursday Boys walk through their village and rattle with wooden rattles. They make the noise to chase awayJudas. We eat something green, e.g. spinach.

  4. You cannot hear the bells. On Green Thursday they fly to Rome. Big Friday Boys rattle again through the villages. White Saturday Boys walk through the village rattling and they stop at every house. People give them some money.

  5. Easter Sunday The preparation for Easter Monday starts. Girls paint, colour and decorate eggs. Boys make an Easter whip of willow twigs or buy it at a supermarket. We bake an Easter lamb.

  6. EasterMonday Boys whip girls on the legs to keep their health and beauty during the next year. They recite an Easter carol asking for an egg or two while whipping. Then the girls give boys an Easter egg or candy and tie a ribbon around the whip. People eat roast lamb or baked lamb made of gingerbread.
