  1. PLANTAE- TRACHEOPHYTA CONIFEROPSIDA CONIFERALES TAXACEAE • No. of species in category=80 • Chosen Species: Amentotaxushatuyenensis • De tung soc naurong - Vietnamese • Assessment-endangered. • Recorded from two unprotected areas on limestone ridges with very small populations, each with fewer than 100 individuals. The distribution range is poorly known and is expected to be larger. The assessment is based on a 50% reduction in the habitat quality due to the impacts of deforestation. • Ecology: Occurs in tropical/subtropical small-leaved angiosperm–conifer woodland on ridge tops of karst limestone formations at 1,000–1,500 m. The woodland is extremely rich in epiphytes, e.g., orchids, and includes many endemics. • “List of Habitats: 1 Forest1.6 Forest - Subtropical/Tropical Moist Lowland

  2. Conservation • Problem due to deforestation. • Conservation: None at present. • The species is close to A. poilanei and differs mainly in the colour of the stomatal bands, which are brownish not whitish. The species was described in the Flore du Cambodge, Laos et Viet Nam 28: 126 (1996) and merits further investigation. It was (tentatively) accepted in the world checklist of conifers (Farjon 2001). • Our Conservation plan for theses species: protect the widespread habitats of these species by preventing deforestation. • Refrences: (endangered species database) • Li Hui-Lin. 1952.
