(MEO)CHP Roadmap Project Goal: Having the Benefits of CHP Recognized in Developing Governor Snyder’s Energy Plan that is Adaptable, Reliable, Affordable, and Environmentally Protective Objective: Development of a Comprehensive Plan to Optimize the Adoption of CHP in Michigan (and other states can emulate)

  4. (MEO)CHP Roadmap Project Key Project Tasks • Task 1: Evaluate CHP Technologies • Task 2: Employ Analytical Modeling • Task 3: Develop CHP Adoption Solutions • Task 4: Map CHP Supply Chain • Task 5: Engage Stakeholders

  5. (MEO)CHP Roadmap Project Task 1: Identify and Evaluate CHP Technologies and Applications • Combined CHP – renewable energy systems • Waste heat to power • Educating end-users on CHP benefits

  6. (MEO)CHP Roadmap Project Task 2: Use Analytical Modeling to Quantitatively Assess the Most Efficient and Effective Contribution of Various CHP technologies and Applications in Michigan's Energy Portfolio

  7. (MEO)CHP Roadmap Project Task 3: Identify and Provide Solutions to Barriers and Market Impediments to CHP Adoption in Michigan • Educating policymakers and other stakeholders on these solutions

  8. (MEO)CHP Roadmap Project Task 4: Map the Regional and Michigan Specific CHP Value and Supply Chain • Includes engineering firms, contractors and related service providers 

  9. (MEO)CHP Roadmap Project Task 5: Plan and Implement a Stakeholder Engagement Process • Includes policymakers, utilities, MPSC, state agencies, MISO, business and industrial trade associations, NGOs and end-users • The Roadmap for Implementing Michigan's New Energy Policy stakeholder workgroup • Institute for Industrial Productivity CHP end-user stakeholder group • The State Carbon Implementation Plan stakeholder group (potentially)
