  1. My Oral Presentation For Science Fair Oral presentation by Emma Wood

  2. Information about my project • The title of my project is Thirsty Plants. • I became interested in doing this project when I started working in my class garden at school.

  3. Question • The question I asked was, Which liquid helps marigold seeds germinate faster, Water, Kool-Aid, Apple Juice, or Dr. Pepper?

  4. Hypothesis • My hypothesis was, The water will help marigold seeds germinate faster than Kool-Aid, Dr. Pepper, or Apple Juice.

  5. Procedure • 1. Put 1/2 of (1/3) of a cup of soil in 4 3 inch square pots. • 2. Add 5 marigold seeds. • 3. Fill up the pots the rest of the way with soil. • 4. Water each pot with 1/3 of a cup of the specified liquid . • 5. Place the pots near the same window • 6. Water the pots every other day and observe them everyday. • 7. Keep doing this until you see a sprout or you may keep growing your plants if you like.

  6. Results • The results were, The plants did not grow up through the soil. I think this was because they might not have gotten enough time to grow. They might have grown roots. The plants did not grow within 1 week and 2 days.

  7. Conclusion • I do not know if my hypothesis was correct. I learned that my plants did not grow within 1 week and 2 days. If I were to do this project again I would add fertilizer to my soil and put the plants by a bigger window. I would also probably add more seeds and plant them near the top of the soil. And I would look up how long it takes for marigold seeds to germinate.
