CTRC Network UCH CTRC: • 8-bed inpatient unit, including room calorimeter and sleep laboratory; 12th floor, AIP • Outpatient clinic includes 11 exam rooms, 3 procedure rooms, exercise testing room (2 stations), strength testing room, ultrasonography room (vascular imaging), imaging rooms (DXA, pQCT), 6-station phlebotomy room, 5-chair infusion center, metabolic kitchen, bionutrition core; 3rd floor, Leprino • Exercise training facility, managed by the Division of Geriatric Medicine, adjacent to the outpatient clinic

CTRC Network CHCO CTRC: • Inpatient unit with 5-7 beds • Outpatient unit includes 2 pods, including 1 with an infusion center and support for all-day visits • Mobile unit that can support research in inpatient units, outpatient clinics, ER, OR, PICU, CICU, etc • Shared space with CHCO Wellness Centers includes ultrasonography room, exam room, and body composition lab (DXA, BodPod)

  5. CTRC Network Perinatal CTRC: • Entirely mobile unit that provides nursing services at UCH and CHCO, with some capacity to perform studies at Exempla St. Joseph and DH

  6. CTRC Network NJH CTRC: • Outpatient clinic with 3 exam rooms, 1 interview room, and 1 procedure room • NP services to support H&P, spirometry, allergy skin testing, skin biopsies, EKG, blood collection, pharmacokinetics, sputum induction, assistance with bronchoscopies

  7. CTRC Network CU-Boulder CTRC: • Outpatient clinic with 4 exam/procedure rooms, bionutrition core, sample processing lab, integrated physiology lab • Located in Wardenburg Student Health Center

Specific Aims: 2013 • Aim 1: Develop and implement a Program Income System and an evaluative process for cost-effective allocation of resources that support planning, conduct, analysis, and dissemination of research results. • Charge-back system is being implemented over the next 3 years • Micro-grants program of $5-10,000/year for up to 3 years for junior PIs..

Fee-For-Service Transition Plan for UCH and CHCO CTRCs Effective 1 July 2013, research rates will be applied to: • UCH charges – clinical labs, research pharmacy, radiology, medical supplies, etc • ECG and vascular imaging • Exercise testing, indirect calorimetry, body composition, bone mineral density • CTRC core laboratory assays

Fee-For-Service Transition Plan for UCH and CHCO CTRCs Effective 1 July 2014, research rates for: • Nutrition services – dietary intake assessment, measured feeding, hunger/satiety assessment, meal design/preparation/measurement, consultation and counseling, protocol-specific educational and data collection materials Effective 1 July 2015, research rates for: • Nursing services Intent is to continue to fully subsidize facility fees
