  2. Birth & Childhood • Place of Birth:- Shimlapally, Calcutta, West Bengal. • Date of Birth :- on , 12th January 1863. • Original Name :- NarendranathDatta. • Father ViswanathDatta (an attorney of Calcutta high court). • Mother Bhuvaneshwari Devi.

  3. Education • He completed Graduation in Fine Arts from the Scotish church college, Calcutta. In 1881.

  4. Turning Point • The meeting with ShriRamakrishna Paramahamsa in November 1881 proved to be a TURING POINT in his life. • Ramakrishna Paramahamsawas one of the best saints of 19th Century India. He was also a priest and Religious Teacher. • Swami Vivekananda liked his ideologies and was very much impressed by his knowledge and he accepted Shri Ramakrishna Paramahamsaas his Guru.

  5. Works • Vivekananda’swork was to write books. The vedic scholar has written books on four yogas among several other books on meditation, ideology of education, ideal of youth etc • Raja yoga, Bhakti yoga, • Jnana yoga, Yoga

  6. Thoughts All power is within you. You can do anything and everything. Believe in that, do not believe that you are weak. Stand up and express the divinity within you.

  7. Major Achievement Swami Vivekananda was one of the most influential Spiritual Leaders. He has played a major role in spiritual enlightenment. −Spread Vedanta Philosophy in the west. −Established Ramakrishna Mission for service of the poor.

  8. His Message −Look upon the man, woman and everything as God. You cannot help any one , you can only serve the children of the Lord himself , if you have the privilege. −the highest manifestation of strength is to keep ourselves calm and on our own feet.
