  2. PeacemakingIs not Peace Faking! Pretending that there is peace when there is not does more harm than good. “They have also healed the hurt of My people slightly, Saying, ‘Peace, peace!’ When there is no peace.” (Jeremiah 6:14)

  3. Peacemaking Requires EFFORT on our Part We must PURSUE IT! “Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another.” (Romans 14:19) “Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.” (Hebrews 12:14)

  4. Peacemaking Requires a pure and unselfish heart “Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war.” (James 4:1-2)

  5. Peacemaking requires self sacrifice Jesus was willing to sacrifice Himself in order to make peace. “… having made peace through the blood of His cross.” (Colossians 1:20)

  6. Living to Please the Lord will help us make peace with others “When a man's ways please the LORD, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.” (Proverbs 16:7) “Mark the blameless man, and observe the upright; For the future of that man is peace.” (Psalm 37:37)

  7. Children of God are Peacemakers! “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” (Matthew 5:9)

  8. Making Peace with Brethren has priority ahead of worship “First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.” (Matthew 5:24) As we worship today, let us make certain that we’ve kept our priorities straight.
