  2. Appearance • It has a blue-gray back-white chin ,throat , and front side. • It has blue-dark gray flippers. • It has curved flippers for swimming fast.

  3. habitat • It lives in Australia’s Southern coasts, including Tasmania, and New Zealand. • It’s habitat is in a underground burrow, or in the side of a mountain, and might be in a deep rock crevice.

  4. Food and Hunting • The blue penguin eats, sea horses, crab larvae, small squid, and small shrimp. • It caches its prey by, stabbing it with it’s beak and swallows it in one gulp! • Its enemies are, when it is on land its predators are cats, foxes, and dogs . When it’s in water it is the fur seal.

  5. Nesting Behaviors and Raising Young • They start courtship between “May and October”. • And lay eggs between “June and September”. • Each pair lays two white glistening eggs.

  6. Interesting Facts • The blue penguin is the smallest penguin in the world! • It grows between 30-33 cm. • Its called the fairy penguin due to its small size.
