  2. Femur

  3. Femur – ‘Round bone or leg bone’ • The proximal bone of the hindlimb is the femur or round bone. The articular head of the femur is deeply rounded and it bears a round ligament that holds it into the acetabulum. • Another distinctive feature of the femur is thebroad groove between the two trochlear ridges located distally. The patella or knee cap slides in this groove

  4. Tibia ,Fibula&Talus

  5. Tibia • Contribute to stifle joint formation • Divided into 3 segments : • 1. Proximal extremity • 2. Tibial shaft • 3. Distal extremity

  6. Fibula • Fibula can be divided into proximal head , a neck, shaft , and distal extremity • Fibula size may has undergone remarked reduction during evolution making the degree in size different beween species

  7. Tarsal Bones • Consists of : • 1. Talus • 2. Calcaneus • 3. Middle row • 4. Central Tarsal Bone

  8. Left Pelvic limb : tibia , Fibula , tarsal bones
