  1. How do we define the personality traits of a hero? • Brave • Strong • Honest • Never going to give up • Worried about others instead of himself • Will drop everything he is doing to help everyone else out

  2. How do we see today's heroes compared to heroes that were around in the past? • Heroes from the past and today's heroes have a lot in common • They are all brave • Strong both mentally and physically

  3. How does a hero reflect his/her particular culture and society? • Fighting a rare brain tumor • Bringing people together (Aunt Michelle, Devon's mom)

  4. How does a hero represent his/her time period and geographical area? • A hero will never die, Even after they are physically gone their soul lives on forever.

  5. How do various cultures reward or recognize their heroes? • They see their heroes as leaders • They do everything that they can for that hero

  6. How did my heroes childhood affect his view on everything? • It made him realize that you have to give everything you can to do something that you want. (Devon) • Don’t take anything for Granit, you will never know when you wont be able to do it (Devon)

  7. How has the illness affected his personal life? • He can not ride his bike • Hard for him to walk • Affected his speech (Aunt Michelle, Devon's mom)

  8. What is the illness? • diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma, or DIPG • rare form of cancer that affects the pones or middle section of the brainstem (mednar)

  9. What my hero thinks about the situation? • He just wants to get better • Doing everything he can to be better not only for himself but everyone around him as well. (Devon)

  10. What is my hero doing to get better? • physical therapy • radiation (Aunt Michelle, Devon's mom)
