  1. PSI Network Inc. LED Lighting Opportunity Presented by: Scott Kent

  2. What is LED? (Light Emitting Diode) • Bulbs with no filament • Very long lifespan – up to 50,000 hours • Use up to 90% less power than standard light bulbs • Run much cooler and more efficiently • Available in nearly all shapes and sizes

  3. Why Consider a Maxon LED Retrofit? • Reduce Carbon Footprint • Environmentally Friendly • Short Payback Period – Great Investment • Light Quality, Efficiency & Flexibility • Lifespan • Utility & Tax Incentives • Maxon, Product & Process

  4. Reduce Carbon Footprint • LEDs are the only truly environmentally friendly light bulb option  • Generating Electricity produces CO2 • The more electricity needed, the more CO2 is produced & released • One incandescent bulb releases150 pounds of CO2 per year • One compact fluorescent lamp (CFL) releases 35 pounds of CO2 per year • One LED bulb releases 15 pounds of CO2 per year, a 90% improvement from incandescent and a 60% improvement from CFL • Therefore, by retrofitting your lighting system to LED, you are reducing your carbon footprint by up to 90%

  5. Environmentally Friendly • LED lighting reduces the amount of toxic mercury released into the environment upon disposal • Fluorescent bulbs (including CFLs) utilize mercury to produce light • Mercury is a toxic metal that can interfere with the development of children and unborn fetuses and may cause a wide range of health issues in adults • The EPA considers mercury a hazardous waste, and even regulates the disposal of fluorescent bulbs • The EPA has published a list of special handling instructions for broken fluorescent bulbs that includes clearing the room, opening windows, and turning off the air conditioner or heater for several hours • LEDs don’t contain any hazardous materials

  6. Short Payback – Great Investment • In a typical commercial location, lighting accounts for 40-50% of your total power bill •  LEDs will drop the power usage from 60-90%   • Therefore, your could see a reduction in your power bill by up to 45% per month • Retrofitting existing fixtures avoids expensive new fixtures, electrical work and impact to operations • Typical payback period for an investment in an LED retrofit is between 1-3 years

  7. Light Quality & Efficiency • Produce up to 80% less heat than incandescent bulbs • Can duplicate ANY light mood or brightness • Color Rendering Index (CRI) of 90 or better • Color Temperature of 2700 – 6500 Kelvin (K).

  8. LED Flexibility • Virtually any light source can be replaced by LED PAR MR16 A19 G24 T8 Tube Streetlight Downlight Panel Light Wall Pack High Bay

  9. Replacement Fixtures Induction Shoebox Induction Wallpack LED Streetlight LED Downlight

  10. Lifespan • LEDs last 50,000 hours - 50x incandescent bulbs and 6x CFLs • Running lights 12 hours/day, 5 days/week, LEDs last 16 years   • This reduces  maintenance cost and cost of replacement bulbs  • Just as importantly, it is one less thing that needs to be managed!

  11. Utility & Tax Incentives • The Energy Efficient Commercial Buildings Tax Deduction (CBTD), Federal Tax - Section 179(d) • The tax deduction is based on an annual reduction in energy usage of at least 40% and issued at a rate of $0.60 per square foot • In addition, Most local utilities offer a rebate for significant reductions in power usage.  In our experience these rebates run from 10% - 50% of the total cost of the project

  12. Maxon Technologies Overview • MaxOn Technologies is a division of Zaharoni Industries which was established in 1975 • MaxOn is an LED and Induction Lighting OEM • Manufacturing partners in Los Angeles and Shenzhen China

  13. Maxon Technologies Overview • Zaharoni Industries was established in 1975 and has 13 offices in the US, China, Mexico, Canada and Israel • Financial Strength: $100M in annual revenue, over $30M in assets Minneapolis, MN Boston, MA Vienna, Austria Tel Aviv, Israel Eastern Canada Chicago, IL San Jose, CA Los Angeles, CA Shenzhen, China Phoenix, AZ Austin, TX Guadalajara Mexico Sao Paolo, Brazil

  14. Maxon Technologies Overview • Zaharoni Industries currently sells to customers on five continents, including some of the most recognizable brand names in the world.

  15. Maxon Technologies OverviewMaxOn Customers – we are well on our way….

  16. Maxon Product • MaxOn products use chips manufactured in the U.S. by Cree, the market leader in the LED or solid state lighting industry • “Made in the U.S.A.” for designated products and components • UL Certified • 5 Year Warranty • 50,000 hour rating (lifespan)

  17. Maxon Process • Step One: Conduct a Lighting Energy Efficiency Analysis (EEA) one on of more properties at Ocean Reef • EEA consists of surveying and analyzing the existing lighting system in the facility in order to recommend LED and Induction alternatives. • Step Two: Present EEA Report • The resulting study provides you with the cost of the retrofit and calculates the savings, including all estimated rebates and tax benefits. • Step Three: Sample Installation • We can install LEDs in a property or portion thereof to determine light quality, savings, etc. • Step Four: Full Installation • Upon approval, we coordinate installations by retaining local professionals, ORC employees or our national installation team.

  18. Why Consider a Maxon LED Retrofit? • Reduce Carbon Footprint • Environmentally Friendly • Short Payback Period – Great Investment • Light Quality, Efficiency & Flexibility • Lifespan • Utility & Tax Incentives • Maxon, Product & Process
